Dishwasher Repair

a man fixing a dishwasher in a kitchen

Usually, you may expect to get seven to ten years out of your dishwasher. Think about this before determining whether or not to fix a broken device. If the item is just a few years old and the cost to fix it is less than half of what it would cost to replace it, it is more cost-effective to fix it rather than replace it. At Circle City Appliance Repair, we do a full no-obligation cost estimation of the repair needed to get your dishwasher running smoothly. We assist with professional advice and ensure that you do not spend unnecessary money on any repair costs.

Dishwasher Not Draining?

There are a few potential starting points for troubleshooting a dishwasher that won't drain. In the first place, we make sure there is no obstruction in the air gap or drain hose. It is common for drain hoses to get clogged at their connection points to the trash disposal or main drainpipe. We disconnect the drain hose, professionally flush and clean it well, reconnect it, and see whether the dishwasher drains better now. If this is not the source of the problem, we check the timer to see if that corrects the draining issue on your dishwasher.

Faulty Timers

surprisingly, a broken timer might cause your dishwasher to sit in a pool of water by preventing it from draining and drying at the right times. When this happens, we start by checking the timer mechanism, and if we find any defective and broken components, we recommend replacement. With this being said, it is important to know that we switch out the full-timer unit or only the motor on the timer. If we find the timer is functioning properly and we have already checked the drain pipes for obstructions, the solenoid for the drain is our next step. Even if the timer is functioning properly, water will not drain from certain models because the timer sends a signal to a solenoid to activate the drain valve. If the drain valve or solenoid is broken, you'll need to get a new one.

Blocked or Dirty Filter

Do your dishes still feel gritty after running them through the dishwasher? A filthy or clogged filter might be the root of the problem. Maintaining peak performance requires regular filter cleaning. Your dishwasher's filters are probably in the middle of the bottom rack. Dishwasher filters may get blocked from constant usage, but all it takes to restore your dishwasher's original cleaning efficiency is a quick rinse in the dishwasher's filter cleaning cycle.

Dishwasher Thermostat Test and Replacement

A malfunctioning heating element in a dishwasher with a hot dry option may be to blame if your dishes come out wet after the cycle has finished. Our repair technicians are experienced and trained to handle electrical equipment, we use professional multimeters to do the necessary test on your heating elements. The dishwasher's bottom panel must be opened once it has been unplugged. The main culprit generally is that the dishes aren't dry because of a broken high-heat thermostat that turns off the heat too quickly. We offer fast, affordable, and effective thermostat replacement services.
